| Posted: 27 Nov 2012 02:50 PM PST Evening commuters have been plagued with delays across multiple MBTA subway and commuter rail lines, according to the T's website. As of 4 p.m., the Newbury/Rockport and Haverhill Lines were expecting 10- to 20-minute delays because of mechanical failures. The Needham Line was showing delays of up to 45 minutes because of slippery rails, caused by leaves that fall and cling onto the tracks. A disabled train on the Forest Hills-bound side of the Back Bay/South End station was reported at 4:54 p.m., causing some 10- to 15-minute delays, the MBTA's website said. |
| Lease agreement opens way to build baseball stadium in Malden Posted: 27 Nov 2012 02:57 PM PST The Malden Redevelopment Authority, National Grid, and developer Alex Bok have reached agreement on the terms of a 40-year lease to build a $50 million minor league baseball stadium on the site of a former gas distribution facility. The developer still must acquire 2.7 acres of additional land, and secure financing, before the stadium would rise on Commercial Street in downtown Malden. |

City councilors in Quincy are considering passing new zoning restrictions, and officials in Randolph, Hanover, Milton, Norwood, Abington, Avon, Dedham, Halifax, and others are also starting to take a closer look at what can be done locally. |

City officials recently negotiated the approximately $1 million tax increment financing agreement with Squire Charger Realty, LLC, the firm that owns the site at the corner of Squire Road and Charger Street. The deal would exempt Squire Charger Realty from taxes on a portion of the increased value of the property resulting from its investment. |
