The event brought together members of the community and residents who were involved in the shooting in Tucson on Jan. 8, which claimed the lives of six people and wounded a number of others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz. One of the shooting victims, Eric Fuller, was arrested after yelling "you're dead" at the event. Grief-stricken after the Tucson supermarket massacre, shooting victim James Eric Fuller found comfort writing down the Declaration of Independence from memory while still recovering in the hospital.

A Pakistani cameraman films burning oil tankers after gunmen attacked a terminal in Dera Murad Jamali southwest Pakistan on Saturday. A government official says gunmen in Pakistan's southwest have set ablaze 14 tankers carrying fuel for U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan. A driver also was wounded during the Saturday attack. The number of suicide bombings and other attacks in Pakistan declined nearly 20 percent last year as a result of Pakistani military operations and better surveillance by law enforcement agencies, a think tank says.

The Brazilian military took advantage of a break in the weather Sunday to send helicopters to remote areas near Rio hit by landslides and flooding that killed at least 610 people. A break in near-constant rain Sunday allowed Brazilian rescue helicopters to deliver desperately needed food and water to some of the neighborhoods buried under tons of earth in mudslides that killed more than 600 people.
