More people say they favor a pardon for Billy the Kid than oppose the idea after Gov. Bill Richardson's office set up a website and e-mail address to take comments on a possible posthumous pardon for one of New Mexico's most famous Old West outlaws.

Iraq leader: U.S. out by end of 2011

Iraqi security forces search people and cars while hundreds of vehicles are in queue, waiting to be searched, at a checkpoint in Baghdad, Iraq, on Tuesday, Dec. 28. Security officials are investigating the possibility of removing some of the hundreds of checkpoints across the city, in a sign of the improving security situation. The checkpoints are designed to catch insurgents, but they also slow down traffic in the already congested city. U.S. troops will complete their pullout from Iraq by the end of 2011, says Prime Minister al-Maliki in a newspaper interview in which he cited the deadline established in 2008.
