Suspect accused of running a brothel in Little Village and forcing underage girls into prostitution

An alleged madam regularly picked up a 16-year-old girl from her high school and drove her to a basement brothel to work until 8 or 9 p.m. a couple of days a week, authorities charged Wednesday.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A Texas jury says it has reached a verdict in the money laundering trial of former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay. The panel of six men and six women told Senior Judge Pat Priest on Wednesday it has made a decision. The verdict will be read in an Austin courtroom. It came after 29 hours of deliberations.
